Enhancing Your Garden with a Fountain. A water feature is a great way to add interest to your garden. These can be both relaxing and visually appealing. Nothing beats sitting on a bench next to my garden and listening to my fountain while reading a good book or studying.
Installing a water feature is simple and inexpensive, and it will significantly improve the aesthetics of your garden. Furthermore, the level of maintenance is low.
Fountains are typically installed for the benefit of the natural ambience they provide. For some reason, being near a beautiful body of water makes you feel good. This is also beneficial if you practice Tai Chi, yoga, or meditation. Most people require the constant drone of the water to focus on what they are doing. Even if you're not into that sort of thing, simply being in a garden with a fountain has a meditative quality to it, even if you're not attempting it. It is something I would recommend to anyone.
When you first decide to install a fountain, you should take great care in selecting one that will complement the rest of your garden. If you have any other decorations, consider whether they complement your theme. Is the fountain you're thinking about sticking out like a sore thumb in your garden, or does it appear to be a natural fit? If you're anything like me, you can't tell whether a fountain will be a good addition to your garden simply by looking at it. So I brought my sister (who is a natural at fashion design and such) to the store, along with a picture of my garden. I was able to get her expert opinion as well as see what it would look like for myself. By doing so, I was able to select a lovely rock fountain that complements the rest of my garden perfectly.
However, I still had a minor issue with powering my fountain. My garden, you see, is not very close to my house. I didn't want to run an extension cord across my yard, so I had to come up with another solution. I explained my situation to a Home Depot employee, and he quickly found me the exact solution I needed: a buried extension cord! It only took a few hours of digging a small trench across my yard to power my fountain without an unsightly cord running across it. My fountain plan went swimmingly after I got over this minor hiccup.
So, if you want to make your garden a more classy and beautiful place to be, I hope you think about installing a fountain. The entire procedure is surprisingly inexpensive, and I believe you will be very pleased with the results. A fountain in your garden is not only relaxing, but it also adds a lot of character to an otherwise uninteresting garden. Gardening isn't just for producing vegetables! A garden is a good place to go when you want to get away from the outside world and be alone with your thoughts.
